Thirty of New Zealand’s leading Angus studs, including Kakahu, have announced a partnership with AngusPure Ltd to improve the eating quality of Angus beef.

AngusPure is the most decorated Beef Brand in New Zealand and was recently announced as New Zealand’s “Beef Brand of The Decade” at New Zealand Beef & Lamb’s Steak of Origin annual awards.

Guy Sargent, the principle behind AngusPure, is not content to sit on his laurels. Sargent stated “Research has proved that at least 1 in every 4 steaks will provide a poor eating experience. The new partnership aims to provide a consistent eating experience 100% of the time.”

The first step is to know how the progeny of Kakahu Bulls are performing on the chain. To identify our progeny Kakahu and AngusPure have designed a secondary tag which displays a big A. If the animal is killed at one of the accredited AngusPure plants then subject to the supplier’s approval all the carcass data will be passed back to Kakahu where Gerald, Tom and their team will analyse each killing sheet and make the necessary changes to genetic decisions.
