Once again this March, our group led by Guy Sargent, made our journey to America to search out bulls in the top for genetic gain.  With an annual drop of between 300,000 and 400,000 calves, the scope is enormous.  It is fascinating to find bulls suiting our criteria genetically, ones that will force their way past the genetic antagonisms inherent in beef cattle production, then searching for their progeny to analyse these sires for structural soundness and temperament. We found some good out crosses which will not compromise our aim to continue to strongly pursue multi-trait excellence, with the purpose of improving our clients’ profitability.
