The 37th Kakahu Angus Bull Sale was held yesterday in steady rain and with many roads closed from south.

With a depleted attendance, it was great to have a buyer’s market for a change.

Best EBV’s sold for very economic prices.  Real cattlemen were able to judge their bulls and buy well.

93 bulls sold for an average of $5585.  Top price was $13,000 for Lot 97, a bull by Vermont Drambuie D057, and with tremendous calving ease and carcase figures.

Mt Peel paid $12,000 for lot 48 sired by a home bred bull, Lawsons 09104 which Kakahu has recently bought back. 104 is currently 7th in the Angus Pure Index for New Zealand Sires.
